New York condensed

Spent the Memorial Weekend in New York City. It was great to be back, this time with Ricardo. We haven't been back togther since we moved 2 years ago (ouch, time flies) and we indulged in some memory lane walks, some by literally walking and some by eating at some of our old favorites. We also did a few things we never got around to doing when we actually lived there and all in all it was a very successful mix of new and old.

park

Four days in NY with great weather. Gave us a great breather before the summer onslaught in Houston.

Ciao

What can be better than some wonderful ice cream after some great hotdogs? Ahem. A trip down memory lane is what we did here.
Papaya King 86th/3rd for the dogs and Ciao Bella on 92nd(?)/Madison- right in front of a school (have they figured out their custom base correcly? Oh yes.)! My rasberry sorbet was a delish, the kids' gummy bear toppings... not so delish, but the kids were all kind of cute in their school uniforms so never mind.

curly

My favorite place in the Metropolitan Museum. The curly hair, the wings, the funny legs...

water

One of the fun features of NY- the water towers! Even my building used to have one of those which meant the cold water wasn't particularly cold in the summer...

strand

It was most definitely not a shopping trip but some stores just HAVE to be visited. Strand is just a great, great bookstore. Almost impossible to leave without buying something and well, we got a few (ahem) things.
